EYES 1

LAP 30-2

I started frying eggs the week of my 30th birthday - I don't know why really...I've always been a scrambled girl for the most part. Actually I had never even tried an egg any way other than scrambled (not including ones of the hard boiled and deviled variety here in this discussion) until I was in Siberia in 2009...and I eat eggs almost daily.

The thing about traveling, and touring in particular, and touring in Russia to be even more particular than that, is that when there is food you should eat it - whether you like it or not, because if you don't eat now you might not get another chance in the next 24 hours...so when presented with a plate of running eggs in Siberia I gobbled them down practically licking the plate without even considering otherwise. And I loved every bite because the reality is I'm an egg girl - period - doesn't matter how they are prepared.

So, a year later I'm pining over the open faced egg sandwiches at a local cafe that I love but can't always afford and I found myself ready to take my relationship with the egg to the next level.

Here you see the first time I successfully kept both yolks in tact - a proud moment for the perfectionist in me...

This is here because really, beyond the eggs, it is indicative of a MAJOR movement taking place in my life RIGHT NOW.

Why are you doing things this particular way?
Is it because it is the best way to do it?
or the way you really like it?
or is it really that you are just doing it this way because this is how you have always done it...its the only thing you know, and rather than try your hand at something you don't know how to do you just keep doing the same thing over and over without evening thinking about it.

hey, guess what, CHANGE CAN BE GOOD - AND FUN! - EVEN IF YOU ARE OUT, NO ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE.

God speed all you travelers and triers of new things! xo
